Just What Engagement Party Games Are There?
What’s a party without games, right? Yes, a party is definitely not complete when there are no games that the guests can participate in. And the same holds true even for engagement parties.
Engagement party games actually make the whole event more fun and even more memorable. With families, relatives, and closest friends enjoying these games while celebrating one of the most important events in any person’s life, just what more can one ask for? Well, maybe a list of engagement party games would be great, if you don’t have an idea as to what type of games should be played during such an event. So, just what kinds of games would be appropriate for an engagement party?
Since different sets of friends would be invited to the engagement party, chances are, they do not really know each other that well. Thus, the first game that the guests should play should acquaint themselves with one another. This way, the party would become more enjoyable as a whole. An icebreaker is then the ideal choice for the first game here.
What you should do is divide all of your guests in pairs. Make sure that the pairs you come up with are composed of people who do not know each other that well. Once you have your pairs lined up, give them 5 to 10 minutes to talk with each other so that they can get acquainted. When the time is up, each person should then write at least 5 facts about his or her partner. This way, you are sure to break the ice and start the ball rolling.
With the guests feeling a lot more comfortable and acquainted with each other, you can then move on to the next round of engagement party games. The next games would then be more interesting since they would be based on your engagement party’s theme itself – the engaged couple. This time around, the attention would then be focused on the engaged couple. Think of this game as a test of how well the engaged couple know each other. Ask about likes and dislikes, the bride-to-be’s favorite movie, the bridegroom-to-be’s favorite sport, and so many more! You do not even have to go for just hobbies – the sky is practically the limit here!
Another similar game can be a trivia quiz contest that the guests can participate in. Think of this as a game show where the engaged couple is still the basis of all the questions asked. Each team would then be asked all sorts of questions about the couple and the team that gathers the most points wins the game. Of course, to make the game more challenging and enjoyable, you can top it off with a prize!
These are just some of the engagement party games that you should consider holding. Surely, these games will help liven up the atmosphere of the event and will make the celebration even more memorable. Don’t be afraid to be creative – if you have a game in mind, then be sure to share it with your guests and make the memories more fun than ever. |
